because it's hurricane proof...





There was a dome house that my dad saw online and originally sent me an email regarding building a shelter in the event of a hurricane or high winds.  I'm not sure if this was the one, I think he sent me a link that had a news article and diagrams.  I'll keep looking for the article.  So this is where it started.

  1. I believe I first saw this house in a pdf file that was produced by the builder or designer or supplier. It showed overhead imagery from a higher angle, which emphasized the desolation that surrounded this intact house after the hurrican (Hugo, I think.)

  2. Was this the actual house though? Check out the (non-desolation) photo. At the bottom it looks like the property is for sale. I wonder if this was before or after Hugo...

  3. Yes, this was one of the houses in pics I sent you. The other was an ?Italianate? or ?Florentine? cottage down in Mississippi, I think, that also withstood hurricane winds that blew down all the trees around it. I told you I liked it, although we both agreed that it would not... um... fit in our neighborhood.
